I wonder how much power authors have in choosing the covers…. Holly Black said in her interview that she told the artist what she wanted on the cover of Queen of Nothing, but the artist hadn’t read the book and had no idea what it all symbolised.

That might happen as it’s possible not all book cover artists are reader or maybe they have too many commissions to have time to read.
