Blog Tour #Book Review #Confetti at the Hummingbird Hotel by Daisy Jones @rararesources

Thank you to Rachel from Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for Confetti at the Hummingbird Hotel by Daisy James!

Confetti at the Hummingbird Hotel
Welcome back to the Hummingbird Hotel!
When Abbie Coleman is asked to organise a Dance & Desserts retreat for a group of exhausted schoolteachers, she decides to pull out all the stops. With line dancing, flamenco and the Charleston on the agenda, along with a whole host of delicious themed desserts, it’s her chance to prove to everyone that she has – at last – gained the skills needed to be an accomplished hotelier. This time she’s determined there will be no “unfortunate incidents” that make the Hummingbird Hotel look like Corfu’s Comedy Central.

With her big fat Greek wedding to the gorgeous Nikos Angelopoulos only three weeks away, will she finally be able to deliver a retreat without the habitual chaos and calamity the hotel has become famous for? Can she turn a clunky chicken dance into a classy Charleston and a boogie-woogie into a beautiful ballet? Or will she be boot scootin’ it back to London and life as a floundering florist?

Let Daisy James whisk you away to gorgeous Corfu with a feel-good holiday read filled with sun, sea and a sprinkle of romance. Perfect for fans of Mandy Baggot, Sue Roberts & Sandy Barker

My thoughts:

Look at this sweet, gorgeous cover and tell me you’re not craving a lovely holiday in an exotic location of your choice? If you’re a fan of the Hummingbird Hotel series by Daisy James, chances are your thoughts will immediately go to the sun-soaked Corfu with its marvellous views and mouth-watering food…

If you’ve been following the series, you know this is the final instalment- all good things come to an end (no worries, Daisy James has a new series in the pipelines). Our hotelier by chance Abbie Coleman has come a long way from her first panic-filled days to realising what her strengths are (gardening, flower arrangement, viticulture) and now is looking forward to helping the love of her life Nicos to fulfill his dream of opening a restaurant. But first she must find the right kind of buyer for the Hummingbird Hotel…Could Simon Crabtree be the one to ensure the hotel’s retreats are run incident-free (no more ‘havoc’) like ‘a well-oiled’ machine? or will the multiple changes he is planning rob the hotel of its uniqueness? and should Abbie even be asking these questions- after all, she has her wedding to think about in a few weeks and one last retreat- Dances and Desserts…

Daisy James’s writing is truly enjoyable- she has a talent for making you feel you are indeed in a completely different place with its sunshine, a riot of colours, warm breeze, and fabulous desserts. The rhythm is different and, although life isn’t exactly worry-free, it’s a happy place where people smile, have fun, and support each other. Is it the famous magic of Greece and Greek islands where people sing, dance, and fall in love? or is it the magic of Daisy James’ writing that helps you feel at home in this gorgeous place?

A relaxing, enjoyable read and a great ending to a sweet, heart-warming series!

Author Bio – Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations – the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence – so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.
When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea – china plates and teacups are a must.

    1. Thank you, Debjani! It was sweet and romantic. I loved the description of the retreat they organised in this book with all the dance moves and the typical food from the countries- the author must’ve done lots of research! She also included a flower in the chapter title to represent the content-so original and true to the spirit of the book.
