20 Books of Summer 2022 #20booksof summer22

This is my second year taking part in this challenge hosted by Cathy746books. The rules are quite easy and everything is super relaxed (it’s summer, folks!)- just choose books from your tbr and read them between the 1st of June and the 1st of September. You can drop your goal from 20 to 15 or 10 (or I guess any other number you’re happy with) and you can also change your list half way through (mood readers, rejoyce!).

Last year I did end up reading all twenty (changed a couple titles on the go-don’t you love this challenge already?), but this summer all I’m craving is fantasy and there are so many other great genres. Plus, sometimes I want to try a series, but I’m not sure if I should save 2-3-4 spots for it. So, here is my very tentative list and we’ll see where my mood takes me:

1 The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Reid Jenkins- I read this one in the first week of June, so it should really count.

2 The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley- I really liked this newest thriller from Lucy Foley. I was almost halfway through and was still wondering what exactly was going on, then a twist shed a different light on everything and suddenly it all made sense. Very interesting!

4 Raybearer + Redemptor by Jordan Iflueko- fantasy summer, here we come…

5 Hotel Magnifiique by Emily J.Taylor

6 Forestborn by Elayne Audrey Becker- the second book is coming out at the end of August

7 A Rip Through Time by Kelley Armstrong

8 The Crossing Places by Elly Griffith

12 Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir- thought I could sneak in another SFF book without you noticing

15 The Empire of Vampire by Jay Kristoff- honestly, these three have nothing in common apart from being supposedly dark

16 Book Lovers by Emily Henry

17 Something Wilder by Christina Lauren

18 Book of Night by Holly Black- yep, sneaking in another one

19A Mirror Mended by Alix E.Harrow

20 Sea of Tranquility by Emily St.John

21 Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

22/23 House of Earth and Blood by Srah J.Mass (finished 16 June) and House of Sky and Breath

24 It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey- a buddy read with Yesha
