This year I would like to join in this new challenge for me- Audiobook Challenge- hosted by Kimberly from Caffeinated Reviewer and Jen from That’s What I’m talking about.
Challenge Details
- Runs January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021. You can join at any time.
- The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2021 than you did in 2020.
- Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
- ANY genres count.
- Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
- You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.
- If you’re a blogger grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. If you’re not a blogger you can help by posting on Facebook or Tweet about the challenge.
- Updates plus a giveaway will be posted twice during the year. The first update will be July 2, 2021, and the last update will take place on December 30, 2021.

Achievement Levels
- Newbie (I’ll give it a try) 1-5
- Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
- Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15
- Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
- Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
- My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30+
- Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
- Over-Achiever (Power Listener) 75+
- The 100 Club (Audiobook Addict) 100+

I’m going for the second level of achievement (5-10 audiobooks). Partly because I love the alliteration in the name – Weekend Warrior, but also because that’s exactly what I’m doing- just getting the hang of it and trying to work out what this whole new world of audiobooks is about.
- Do you like this format? If yes, do you prefer listening to reading print copies or e-books?
- How many books do you listen to in a year? What are your favourite genres?
Yes! So glad we are converting you Toni. I love, love, love audiobooks. I have no idea how many I read in 2020, but am betting it is close to or over 100. I did not do this one in 2020 because audiobooks are my preferred reading mode right now. I might keep track next year though. Welcome to the audio life.

You and Jonetta write such interesting reviews that I couldn’t resist trying them. Thank you for your help and your recommendations. The digital library I can stream audiobooks from allows me to search for particular narrators, so I’m going to check out your favourite ones 🤗

Ooo, I have never tried that, I wonder if I can do the same. Thanks for the tip Toni.

I love audiobooks! Of my 74 books logged on Goodreads for the year, about half are audiobooks.

Wow! That’s a lot! So you’re My Precious and quite possibly a Marathoner…. I’ll be looking forward to your recommendations, Laura!

Thank you so much! I’d love to listen to them! What We Will Become was already on my radar, but the others also look fascinating.

The challenge sounds so cool. I like listening to audiobooks and had listened to quite many in 2020. Looking forward to listen to more of them in 2021.

Then this challenge is perfect for you! I 🤗 I’ve only listened to seven, so even ten is going to be an improvement 😁
Hope you join me and the others and we can help each other to keep track of how we’re doing!
Thank you for your comment, Garima!❤

Audiobooks are awesome! I had to check Goodreads, but it looks like I listened to 59 audiobooks this year (I listen to audiobooks on my long commute). I’m a marathoner! But I doubt I’ll listen to that many in 2021.
Good luck with your challenge for next year!

59 audiobooks is such an impressive number! I have a very long commute, but I find it difficult to listen to audiobooks on trains (too noisy). They are perfect for reading, though. Thank you and Happy Reading /Listening in 2021!

Maybe I will give audiobooks a try once again. I have a hard time paying attention to them but definitely think they would be a wonderful addition to my reading. Merry Christmas, Toni!

I have the same issue- I easily get distracted and you can’t rewind or bookmark a place when you’re streaming. Still, some audiobooks I listened to this year were excellent- His and Hers and The Switch, in particular.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Marialyce! Wishing you peaceful holidays with your family❤❤❤
